The sun sets upon the train station at Kleine Scheidegg, as the evening’s last train arrives at dusk. One of the most celebrated mountain passes in the Swiss Alps, Kleine Scheidegg (elevation 2,061 m, 6,762 ft) is below and between the Eiger and Lauberhorn peaks in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. Kleine Scheidegg means “minor watershed.” From high vantage point of Kleine Scheidegg, Grindelwald is visible in the valley, and the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Gletscherhorn, and Mittaghorn mountains follow in succession from north to south.
