Old Town, Hội An

Three teenage boys socialize in front of a storefront in the old town of Hội An, in the Quảng Nam province of Việt Nam.

Known two thousand years ago as known as Lâm Ấp Phố (Champa City), Hội An possessed the largest harbor in Southeast Asia in the 1st century. The city continued to function as a center of Chăm maritime trade before being absorbed by the Vietnamese during conquest of the Chăm kingdom.

In 1999, the old town was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
